Battleship
Battleship Rating: 47 out of 100 based on 33 reviews.
In the Hawaiian Islands, an international naval fleet at Pearl Harbor engage in a very dynamic and intense battle against an alien race known as "The Regents". The aliens come to planet Earth, on a mission to build a power source in the ocean. Upon their visit, they come in contact with the navy fleet. The film is also purported to show both sides of the story, from the aliens' perspective, as well as the humans' so the audience knows exactly where the opponent's ships are.

Let’s just get this out of the way up front: Battleship the movie has little to do with the Hasbro board game that it is based on – other than the fact that it involves Naval battle on the high seas. What we get instead is a slice of popcorn summer...

All I expected out of “Battleship” was a stupid action movie. It’s more than that, though: It’s also a stupid comedy and a stupid sci-fi yarn. It makes “Top Gun” look like the work of Orson Welles. At least the Tom Cruise movie remembered to cast...

It’s big, loud, dumb and sloppy. It’s top-heavy with clichés and powered by that shopworn superior-alien-force-attacks-underdog-Earthlings scenario. But Battleship, in due course, wins the fight to deliver the right summer-action-special effects movie...

"What's the difference between a battleship and a destroyer?" asks a starstruck boy upon meeting a U.S. Navy hero-to-be in Battleship. The smart answer would be "one peg hole" since everyone knows the board game inspiring this brawny action flick.

How can you not be skeptical about Battleship? It's a movie based on a board game, for crying out loud. And not only is it based on a board game, it isn't entirely true to the world of the game. The story here revolves around an alien attack on Earth.
