The Babymakers
The Babymakers Rating: 43 out of 100 based on 8 reviews.
After trying everything to get his wife Audrey (Olivia Munn) pregnant, Tommy Macklin (Paul Schneider) realizes to his horror that he may be "shooting blanks." Terrified that his marriage may fall apart, Tommy recruits his friends (and an Indian ex-mobster) to rob a sperm bank where he made a deposit years ago. As with any half-baked scheme, everything can and does go wrong, testing the limits of Tommy and Audrey's relationship. The Babymakers is a hilarious twist on the heist film genre, a laugh-out loud comedy showing how far one couple will go in hopes of creating a new life. -- (C) Official Site

Reviews for The Babymakers

Once the ordinary Joes in “The Babymakers” become dumb criminals—in service of robbing a sperm bank—the movie transforms from a low-impact comedy with too many loose ends into a likably absurd mini-riff on “Ocean’s Eleven.” That is, if Danny Ocean...

Shadows on the Wall
The Babymakers What starts as an insightful, bracingly straight-spoken comedy about infertility falls apart in the final act when it diverts into a wacky, under-developed adventure. Even the solid cast can't make up for such lazy writing and directing.

When I saw Jay Chandrasekhar, Kevin Heffernan and Olivia Munn attached to this film, I was immediately interested. I am a big fan of Broken Lizard and G4′s “Attack of the Show”. This film is laugh-out-loud funny but takes a more mature route than past...

Beware the comedy about fertility treatment. Few subjects offer such abundant opportunities to veer into cheap, easy jokes. It can be hard for a filmmaker to resist the temptation. A scene needs a laugh; you're dealing with sperm, and masturbation...

No, it's cool. I was just sitting around thinking about just what kind of movie I was really craving during my unwed pregnancy and suddenly this chocolate-in-your-peanut-butter mash-up arrived fully formed and bursting from the head of Zeus.

A comedy lives or dies on it’s humor, plain and simple. If a film under this genre is devoid of any hilarity, then it’s considered to be in some ways a failure. There are many other pieces of the cinematic puzzle that go into place in order to create a...

Every so often a movie comes along that’s so lame, you can almost make out a “What the hell am I doing here?” thought bubble over an actor’s head.

Men don’t want to have babies. I refuse to believe it’s just me, since practically every movie ever made on the subject has found the sperm donor perpetually befuddled by the prospect of pregnancy and the decades of selfless responsibility that...
